Стаття присвячена аналізу британських кулінарних текстів від середньо-віччя до доби імперії як важливого джерела з історії повсякденності. Розглянуто, як рецептурні збірники, кухонні книги та придворні меню відображали соціальну ієрархію, політичну символіку та культурні коди своєї епохи. Особлива увага приділяється еволюції уявлень про їжу як маркер статусу та влади Кулінарні тексти постають не лише як практичні настанови, а й як своєрідні наративи, що фіксують зміни смаків, ціннос-тей і моделей споживання в британському суспільстві. Аналіз дозволяє простежити трансформацію гастрономічної культури від середньовічного королівського двору до імперського столу, де їжа ставала інструментом політичної репрезентації.
