Шлях історії України до світового контексту через трагедії Другої світової війни: погляди західних дослідників

Стаття аналізує особливості дослідження історії України, починаючи з періоду, коли вони мали виключно російськоцентричний характер. Однією з причин такого стану був помилковий поділ націй на «історичні» та «неісторичні». Розглядаються дискусійні аспекти у відображенні історичних подій, особливо пов’язаних з Другою світовою війною, під час ідеологічного протистояння між США та Радянським Союзом. Зроблено висновок про суттєве гальмування об’єктивних історичних досліджень в роки цієї «холодної війни». Доведено, що з кінця ХХ – початку ХХІ ст. у західній історіографії суттєво посилився інтерес до проблем України, особливо періоду Другої світової війни.
