У статті досліджується процес виникнення та подальшої інституалізації практики використання президентами США офіційних твітер-акаунтів. У рамках цих процесів аналізується явище «цифрового переходу» офіційних облікових записів між президентськими адміністраціями. Прослідковуються основні відмінності між цифровими переходами «Обама – Трамп» 2017-го та «Трамп –Байден» 2021-го рр. Розглядається проблема перетинання приватного й офіційного вимірів при використанні твітер-акаунтів Б. Обамою та Д. Трампом.
