ПОЛІТИКА СПОЛУЧЕНИХ ШТАТІВ АМЕРИКИ ЩОДО ПРОТИДІЇ НЕЗАКОННОМУ ОБІГУ НАРКОТИКІВ У ДІАЛОЗІ США – ЛАТИНСЬКА АМЕРИКА (1980-ті – 1990-ті рр.)

У статті розглядається політика США щодо протидії незаконному обігу наркотиків у Західній півкулі та вплив цієї діяльності на відносини між Сполученими Штатами та країнами Латинської Америки. Особлива увага звертається на трансформацію завдань і підходів США до проблеми наркоторгівлі в американському просторі в контексті налагодження діалогу із країнами Андського регіону й Карибського басейну в умовах завершення «холодної війни» та першого десятиліття існування постбіполярної системи. У результаті проведеного дослідження авторка дійшла висновку що, виділення проблеми подолання загрози поширення наркотиків у ранг зовнішньополітичних завдань дозволило уніфікувати погляди урядів США та країн Латинської Америки на методи боротьби із наркоторгівлею. Одначе, користуючись слабкістю інститутів країн Андського регіону й Карибського басейну, Сполучені Штати використовували економічні та політичні важелі, які і визначали порядок денний боротьби із незаконним обігом наркотиків.
