"Briand’s Initiative" at The Turn of 1920–1930’th as a Stage in the Formation of a Supra-National consciousness in Europe

The article deals with the complex analysis of such historical phenomenon as “Briand‟s Initiative”. The author of the article studies the causes of origin of the project of European states association, its essence and purpose, the link with the existing international relation system. The author analyzes the content of the A. Briand‟s Memorandum and the reaction of European governments at it. The author concludes about the value of the A. Briand‟s project as a transitional stage in the transformation of the European consciousness from the priority of traditional national values to the supranational.
