Abstract

The review is devoted to monographic analysis of Yu. Prisyajnyuk, where Ukrainian peasantry of the late XIX – beginning of XX century is viewed from social and mental history, ethnic and cultural, modernization processes point of view. The point of view is spoken about the necessity of taking into account the factor of the absence of Ukrainian statehood when studying the evolution of the social and mental characteristics of Ukrainian peasantry during the post-reform period.
