ACTIVITIES OF THE MILITARY RESORT OF THE DC OF THE UNR IN EXILE IN 1950-1952

Abstract

The article investigates the activity of the military resort of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in the exile in 1950-1952. with combatant organizations, military-theoretical activity, legislative activity, training for the future of the Ukrainian army, establishing relations with the military authorities of foreign countries. The contribution of the military resort of the Central Committee of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in the exile was clarified, the financial activity of this body for two years was studied. The contribution of military emigration after the Second World War to the activities of the governing bodies of the Ukrainian People’s Republic has been studied. It is noted that the experience of military emigration can be used in modern military construction. The attempt to gain independence in 1917-1923 was associated with active military construction and the wars for independence. The Ukrainian revolution ended in defeat, including as a result of unsuccessful military construction. The Ukrainian emigration of 1920-1930 tried to analyze the causes of defeats and prepare for new events. An attempt at revenge during the Second World War and the national liberation struggle after it also ended in failure. The “third wave” of Ukrainian emigration continued the struggle for Ukraine’s independence. After the Second World War, most of the Ukrainian emigrants united around the Ukrainian People’s Republic in exile. Despite the constant conflicts and withdrawals of some political forces, the Central Committee of the Ukrainian People’s Republic worked actively until Ukraine’s independence. The military body within the State Center was the Military Affairs Department. She has accumulated considerable experience in previous national military construction and military development in modern foreign countries. It was also important that Ukrainian emigrants served in the armies of NATO countries.
