The article analyzes the state of scientific research on the formation of Holo-caust remembrance culture in Denmark. It uses methods of historiographical analysis, a comparative-historical approach, and generalization, which made it possible to identify trends in the formation of Holocaust remembrance culture in Denmark. It shows the transformation of the idea from the post-war «myth of the savior nation» to contemporary critical models of Holocaust memory, focused on content, complex aspects, and international discourse, and on education and museum practices.
The article explores the evolution of scientific and public discourse: from the silencing and dominance of the «savior nation» narrative after October 1943 to modern approaches that emphasize critical analysis, the complexi-ty of historical experiences, and moral responsibility. The works of leading researchers (J. Britt, K. Lammers, H. Berg, K. Kverndokk, etc.) who study the transformation of memory, the role of education, museum institutions and media in the formation of a collective vision of the past are considered. It is emphasized that in Danish society there is a process of deheroization and internationalization of memory, when the Holocaust goes beyond the bound-aries of a national event and appears as a universal symbol of the fight against intolerance and genocide.
Special attention is paid to works that highlight the issues of the evacuation of Jews to Sweden, refugee policy in the 1930s, the experience of those de-ported to Theresienstadt.
The conclusion is made that the culture of memory about the Holocaust is a multi-level phenomenon that combines historical, culturological and socio-po-litical dimensions. Denmark’s experience has significant practical potential for Ukraine, where in times of war the issues of preserving historical truth, forming critical thinking, and consolidating society are particularly relevant.
