Historical memory and contemporaneity

Abstract

The article is devoted to the phenomenon of historical memory, points out and analyses the structural components of the historical memory (ethnic, social, political, socio-cultural, confessional, the memory of the forms of communication), characteristic features (selectivity, relevance, continuity, personification, paradoxicality) and peculiarities of manifestations in the society. The author presents contemporary trends of development of historical memory. Separately characterized the problem of manipulation of historical memory. It is noted that the manipulation of historical memory lain in a basis of a social phenomenon - the politics of history.
